We are looking for an experienced Commercial Construction Project Manager/Estimator to plan and supervise the supply and installation of specialty items for commercial construction projects. You will organize and oversee multiple projects and ensure they are completed in a timely and efficient manner. The ideal candidate will have an analytical mind and great organizational skills. The goal will be to ensure all projects are delivered on time according to requirements and without exceeding the budget.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with General Contractors, Construction Managers, Clients and Architects on the specifications of the project.
- Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations.
- Attend pre-bid meetings
- Involved in the estimating process; take-offs, getting pricing from vendors, creating quotes on vendor websites, creating shop drawings through some of our vendor sites.
- When a contract comes in, verify validity of vendor pricing before signing a contract
- Tracking quotes for expiration dates so we avoid price increases
- Assist General Manager with sales and marketing.
- Assemble submittals and obtain physical samples from vendors for Architect review. Maintain inventory of common physical samples in the office
- Review change requests for our projects and respond to our client with any pricing changes
- Place orders online or coordinate the issuing of POs to vendors
- Review and approve invoices
- Track orders and assist in receiving / inspecting them upon arrival. Work with vendors on a resolution for missing or damaged parts
- Coordinate deliveries between our warehouse and the customer or field team
- Oversee warehouse inventory and update it when items get returned from the field.
- Communicate coordination needs with other contractors and confirm needs are met ie. power requirements and blocking
- Visit sites and obtain field measurements if an installer is unable to do so
- Provide closeout information including SDS Sheets, Product Warranties, and Care / Maintenance Plan, install warranty letter.
- Coordinate any work required from punchlists or warranty work.
Skills
- Proven experience as construction project manager or installation of specialty items
- In-depth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles
- Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards
- Good knowledge of MS Office 365
- Familiarity with Procore, Plangrid, and Bluebeam is a plus, but willing to learn and embrace the various software required from different clients.
- Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- A team player with leadership abilities

Requirements:
- Attention to detail
- Knowledgeable with construction material (walls, floors, ceilings) and how to anchor into them
- Proficient with MS office: Teams and outlook.
- Professional
- Good oral and written communication
- Ability to adapt to job site conditions and completing the install
- Good problem-solving skills, can adapt to job site variables
- Layout and installation knowledge.
- Good Carpentry skills
- High standard of quality
- Ability to work safely and follow OSHA required safety rules
- Ability to travel and perform installations throughout Michigan and the Midwest, if required.
